AVAILABLE BIRDS
One of my greatest pleasures in this hobby has been sharing the joyful songs of my canaries with others and igniting a sense of awe in those who are interested. Part of that is educating new pet owners on the proper care of their pets and mentoring new canary breeders. I sometimes have birds available for sale to people interested in bringing a canary into their homes as a cherished pet and to those seriously interested in breeding and hopefully showing their birds in the future.
The best time to buy any canary is during the winter months and early spring when their songs are at their peak. An ideal time is immediately after their respective shows when the best selections are available. I often have retired breeding canaries available and they are among the best. The cost of the birds varies depending on the age, gender, and sometimes song scores. Most are in the $100 range.
To assure the purchasers that the birds are purebred representatives of their breeds, all of my birds are “closed banded” with bands engraved with the year they hatched and their unique ID information as registered with their respective clubs. Each bird comes with a copy of it’s pedigree information going back several generations. Most males also have copies of their song score sheets as well. This information can all be cross referenced through the respective clubs where the birds are registered.

Please note, I will not ship my birds but several people from out of the area have planned wine country vacations around picking up canaries from me. I’m happy to get the necessary vet checks etc. and to offer tips of wine country travel for those who want to escort their new birds home via air or land.
