The PowerPoint tutorial will teach you three basic rules to guide you to creating professionally-designed PowerPoint templates and unique presentation! These are the rules that will guide you to the foundation of a success in PowerPoint layout. Let’s get started!

1. Size

Your PowerPoint slides will typically be size 10-inches (width) * 7.5 inches (height). You can resize them to 12*7.5. In the PowerPoint document, and go through Design > Page Setup. If your slides are 12 inches in width or greater, you’ll be more flexible and have the ability to organize the contents in the slide.

2. Typography

The fonts you choose to use can either be the difference between a successful or a failed PPT presentation.

I suggest you pick one font for all of your slides of content. The font I prefer to use myself is Calibri because it’s modern and safe. Helvetica or Century Gothic are great options as well. You can choose a different font for your cover slide as well as the slide’s headings. Be sure that the additional font you choose is unique and understandable. Make sure you take care of the comfort and visual appeal of your audience.

When you are preparing your slides for presentation make sure to make sure that your font size is large. If you plan to present your PowerPoint presentation in an event in public or not. The first is that you can improve the comfort of your audience. It’s also a good practice to develop an effective presentation skill, since you’ll have to master how to organize your the content. Personally, I use at least 20 points for major parts as well as 14-18 for smaller parts. To make comments on charts or graphics 12 should be the maximum. Even if you have number of things to write down remember that you don’t have to write everything down to make clear important points. Keep it simple. People are always busy. More is not always better.

Font Squirrel is my favorite source for high-quality, free and user-friendly fonts. To install the latest fonts on your PC: On your desktop, download the font archive. Then, click Start. Control Panel > Fonts > Copy the font files.

3. Color Scheme

I recommend using two or three colors. For all of your slides with content, I suggest using black as the primary text (in this case the background of your PowerPoint should be light grey or white) and then use two additional colors to highlight key words, statements, or figures. The colors chosen must be clear and contrast with each other as well as with each other and with your PowerPoint background.

Are you feeling uninspired or are you thinking about which colors work together? Try Kuler Adobe’s amazing tool for creating color schemes. It’s free and allows you to select among hundreds of pre-designed schemes.

What if I don’t know how to use PowerPoint? – If you’re like most people, the very thought of trying to design, or even create a presentation using the Microsoft PowerPoint software can put you off. After all, who wants to spend all day creating a presentation – only to give it away to someone else? The good news is that there are several professionally looking ready-made templates that make it really easy to develop a visually appealing and informative presentation. You’ll even find templates for basic features such as navigation, graphics, slide transitions, and task bars that are so easy to use that even the novice presenter can produce a great looking presentation.

Will there be a learning curve? – Of course! but with templates that are already created and ready-to-use, the learning curve should be minimal. If a template is so easy to use that even a novice can produce a comparable presentation, then that template is probably a good choice. The template company that you purchase the templates from will also provide training materials that should prove useful for even the most new user. Whether you decide to use a ready-made template from a specialty business powerpoint presentation design company or create your own, you’ll benefit greatly by having access to quality templates that save you both time and money.
